Ryno Running, Event Manager Jessica Adams, Founder Ryan Geurts, 702-228-7497 9-5 Mon-Fri, Ryan@ryno running.com Paraphrased From http://jeffmc.fast runningblog.com/:  starts off downhill for about 2 minutes, at which point you start to head uphill, followed by a super steep grade for about 20 seconds.  Once I crested the top of the short but steep hill I was greeted by a nasty headwind.  There was no wind during my warm-up, and now two and a half minutes into my race and I am getting blasted…  the course was constantly rolling up and down.  one of the most deceptively slow courses .  There is semi constant uphill to break up momentum, followed by downhill so short that it doesn’t help you at all.  During the third mile we hit a long sustained uphill stretch just before the 3 mile mark
10/8/11 Sat FrankenRun Halloween 5K (8:15 am), American Fork, UT, Art Dye Park http://frankenrun.com/ Benefits the American Fork Children’s Choir. Costumed. Mostly paved trail and paved road with a little gravel stretch. Little to no traffic. Trail includes forested parkland, panaramic views of the wasatch mountains, farmland & the LDS Timpanogos Temple.  From http://allie .fastrunningblog .com DL: the course was “slightly twisty”, but nothing too complicated.  the first mile had some uphill on a paved running path through the spooky forest. the path suddenly morphed into mud and rocks, and we ran on that for a bit before reaching the turn around cone at mile one.  the second mile was much faster, as we retraced our steps from mile one. the third mile was flat and turny. Possibly gift certificates for eating places to top runners. Prizes for age division winners and best costumes. Costume contest categories: Best Frankenstein-Themed Costume, Best Team Costume – 3 or more coordinated runners, Best Couple Costume – coordinated runner couple, More categories to be announced.  From http://allie .fastrunningblog .com DL: awards: they were extremely generous — no runner went home empty-handed. winners took home ukuleles.  Female winner got tickets to the hale center theater, a gift card to hobby lobby and a mystery box full of jewelry.   A couple men got restaurant gift cards, baskets full of candy bars and spooky halloween music/lively patriotic music. One man also got a poetry book.
