Located in Northeastern Nevada.  Begins in Lamoille Canyon just outside of Elko, NV & stretches along the Ruby Mountain Range.  Start time depends on overall team 10K race pace. Personality Award: (Best Team Name, Best Decorated Vehicle, Best Team Costume) Award will be RMR Tech running shirt for each team member a $180 value.  Photo Contest  = Photos should embody the spirit of the race and your teams’ personality.  You will have two weeks after the race to submit your photo to info@rubymountainrelay.com.   Award will be a RMR Pullover hoodie a $30 value.

8/20/11 Pikes Peak Ascent 13.32 Mi (7:00 am & 7:30 am), Pikes Peak, CO www.pikespeak marathon.org 2 starting waves. Course records: Male: Matt Carpenter 2:01 (1993), Female: Lynn Bjorklund 2:33 (1981). Starts in Manitou Springs, CO, which is about 6 miles west of Colorado Springs, CO. Elevation gain (start to summit) is 7,815′ (2,382 meters); the start is at 6,300′ (1,920m) and the summit is 14,115′ (4,302m). The Ascent finish/Marathon turnaround is at approximately 14,050′. The Ascent (and ascent leg of the Marathon) has very few stretches which are not going uphill with the average percent grade being 11%. The majority of the race is on a trail, often narrow, winding, & may be gravel, rocks or dirt with sharp turns and abrupt changes in elevation or direction. The only way to get in after May 1 is to run a Cascadia Trail race and sign up for the Hobble Creek drawing and win a spot, which you must still pay for. At the Battle At Big Springs 8K July 31, 2010, 9 spots were given out, and you can transfer these spots but not after registering, but you must sign up within 2 days. RunTheSlam.com is a new race series that gives guaranteed entry to the Utah Valley Half Marathon and early registration to the Hobble Creek Half Marathon (Hobble sells out in less than one day). Runners who participate in this series will run the following four half marathons: Thanksgiving Point Half Marathon, Utah Valley Half Marathon, Hobble Creek Half Marathon, & the Spanish Fork Half Marathon. There is an alternate if you can’t make it to one of the main four.
