People looking for clubs:
Woman in West Jordan:
I’m looking for a beginner’s running club. And I mean beginners. I can’t even run a mile yet and I’m struggling to get to that. My goal is to be running a 10K someday but I’ve got to start at the bottom. For people who really run, having me along would not be fun – that’s why I’m looking for a club of beginners. I live in West Jordan. Any ideas? Maybe you could just point me in the right direction to start looking. I’d appreciate any advice you could give. Thanks!
Male in Pleasant Grove:
I just started running in June, and I love it! I used the Couch to 5K plan to get myself conditioned up to a 5K distance, and have now raced in four 5K races. My PR is 23:31. I’m now training for the Utah Valley Marathon in June, my first marathon. I’m using the Galloway method (2 short runs, 1 long run per week with walking intervals), and I’m on week 5. I live in Pleasant Grove, and usually go running in the mornings on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If the weather is good, I like to go outdoors, but with the cold temps and ice outside I’ve used the PG rec center track. Do you know of anyone up in my area who might be interested in training with me?
If anyone knows of any runners to direct these people to, please e-mail UtahRunningClub@gmail.com. Thank you!

Train with local Elite Runners!
Elites don’t have much time because of their busy training schedules, but you if can help sponsor them sometimes they can afford to spare a few minutes to let you know when and where they will be training so you can meet them. Some may slow down to run with you for an extra charge (the more they have to slow down the more they would charge), however, some must keep their pace in order to continue to be fast but will be happy to at least meet with you and then you are welcome to try to chase after them as long as you can keep them in sight! Either way, you will have the privilege of meeting them and getting motivated and getting excited for each workout! If you are interested, e-mail UtahRunningClub@gmail.com and mention any runner(s) you would pay to train with, how much you would be willing to pay based on them going their normal pace and also if they were to slow down to train with you, and how far you can travel from your home to train with them. We will try to find these runners and see if they are interested. If you are one of the top runners in your community, and are interested in being paid to have people come run with you, e-mail us! These fees can be reduced if there are many people pitching in together for the same people, making it affordable. Many of the elite runners could use some extra financial support to help them with their running expenses so thank you for supporting local elites!
